Q: Is looking for a job really a full time job?
A: Lots of people say that, but I don’t think so. To do a search well, you have to know how to fit it in with your work and life and build momentum without being overwhelmed.
Even if you are between jobs and have time to work on a search full time, it’s best not to get too keyed on it. Instead, do things you like and rarely have time to do in addition to conducting a quality search.
The goal is to get out of search mode as quickly as possible, but not to take a job you really don’t want. So, working or not, stay in the search long enough for the right job to present itself.
