Q & A

How do I decide what to do next in my career?

Q: How do I decide what to do next in my career?

A: We were taught by in law school that we could predict outcomes. However, lawyers who want to change jobs or careers have to engage in a process, not sit in our chairs and seek to predict the future.

The way to start is not to gear on deciding what to do next, but rather to commit to discussing/researching/analyzing what could be out there that you want to include in a search.

The best search is like a multi-lane highway rather than a one-way/one lane road. Think about looking in several directions and run a quality search process in order to determine what your options and, hopefully, offers are…before you try to make your decision.
