Q: What has been the best part of your career? Someone asked me that recently and I just didn’t know what to say.
A: I’ve had a number of career highlights, from practicing law in Honolulu to arguing appeals before the Illinois Supreme Court to starting the Career Resource Center for the ABA to my current project, Legal PREP, through which I am advising law schools on how they might expand their curricular focus to better ready their students to get jobs and perform them well upon graduation.
I’ve had many other highlights, too numerous to mention. But the best part has probably been running my counseling practice Under Advisement, Ltd., giving help and hope to individual lawyers over the years so that they, too, could have the careers they want. If you didn’t have an answer to the question, it may be because the best part of your career is yet to come.
Enjoy your successes, large and small. As we often are reminded, especially at this time of year, it’s a wonderful life.
