Q: What’s the best phase in a legal career…the beginning, the middle, or the most senior one?
A: Every career stage has its advantages. In the beginning, you don’t know what you don’t know–which gives you the room to try things, to learn, and grow. In the middle, new skills may still be required or major job changes may take place–allowing you to display your adaptability while positioning yourself to do what you have determined you like to do. In the seasoned stage, you can enjoy what you have mastered and accomplished–and give back more readily to the lawyers your junior.
We’re fortunate to be in a profession that is so varied by subject matter, size of workplace, and sector. See and seize the opportunities each career stage presents–and enjoy them all.
